Dr. Viveca Giongo is a researcher at Center for Technological Development in Health at Oswaldo Cruz Foundation, and professor at the school of medicine, Estacio University. During her Ph.D. thesis in biochemistry at Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, she produced attenuated rotavirus and HSV particles using high hydrostatic pressure as an innovative method to obtain immunogenic viral particles. As post-doctoral at Federal Fluminense University she develops preclinical assays to identify marine terpenes and quinones derivatives as antiviral compounds against HSV and HIV. During her research fellowship in the Università Degli Studi di Napoli, she coupled terpenes and quinones in liposomes and dendrimers proving new delivery systems of marine drugs. Since 2007 she has been publishing about natural and synthetic antiviral compounds with strong inhibition upon latent diseases and now she is developing nanoparticles modified as treatment and vaccine models to zika virus.

T. Durai Ananda Kumar has obtained M. Pharm from JSS College of Pharmacy, Ooty. He has more than 10 years of teaching experience. He taught different pharmaceutical chemistry subjects at UG and PG level. His research activities focus on the design and synthesis of heterocycles, molecular modeling studies and generalization of synthetic and analytical chemical reactions using Design of Experiments (DoE) approach. He has guided 15 M. Pharm students and has 14 research publications in reputed national and international journals. He is on editorial board of Research and Reviews: Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research and Reviews: Journal of Pharmacology. He has authored 2 books, entitled ‘Elementary Pharmacoinformatics’ and ‘Experimental Organic and Medicinal Chemistry- Principles and Practice’. He is a life member of APTI.

I was awarded International Fellowship by Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR-IF) to carry out my PhD study in Chungbuk National University, South Korea. My Ph.D focused on exploring the biodiversity analysis of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and associated endobacteria to enhance plant salt stress tolerance. Prior to that, I worked as a senior research fellow at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, India after completing my Masters in Agricultural Microbiology in the same institute. The isolation, identification and biotyping (molecular and technological) of yeast and lactic acid bacteria “terroir” in order to constitute indigenous starter cultures are able to respect the authenticity, quality and safety of Southern Italian wines are its most recent search lines.

Manish Asthana is in Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur on a postdoctoral position in Department of Humanities and Social Sciences. He has recently completed his first postdoctorate from Mackenzie Presbyterian University, Sao Paulo, Brazil. He received his Doctoral degree in Life Science in 2013 from University of Wuerzburg, Germany. In 2009, he finished his Master’s degree in Cognitive Science from University of Allahabad, India. In June 2009, he moved to International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Hyderabad as a research assistant and in November 2009, he had been selected as a Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Cognitive Science Laboratory, University of Hyderabad, India. In December 2009, he has been offered a PhD position in University of Würzburg. He has conducted research mainly in the area of associative fear learning and its modulation. The development and introduction of novel methods such as behavioral, transcranial direct current stimulation, and genetic was a particular focus of his work. Other highly interesting fields of research were investigations of early biomarkers for anxiety and related disorders, e.g. startle, skin conductance response (SCR), heart-rate variability, blood pressure, etc. for the assessment of early detection of anxiety or related disorders.
