Prof. Agostinho Almeida

Professor Agostinho Almeida (Arouca, 1962) obtained his undergraduate degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences (1986) and his Ph.D. degree in Analytical Chemistry (2000) from the University of Porto, Portugal. He is Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Porto in the areas of Analytical/Bioanalytical Chemistry and Instrumental Methods of Analysis. His main research interests are trace elements in health and disease, including the development of analytical methods for environmental, food, clinical/forensic and pharmaceutical applications. He is the author of more 50 scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals and member of the Editorial Board of Journal of Food Composition and Analysis (since 2015) and Current Analytical Chemistry (since 2018).
